In a world overflowing with information and fast-paced days, what we truly seek is a moment to restore tranquility within ourselves. The time spent carefully preparing a cup of tea and attuning our senses to its aroma and flavor brings peace to noisy daily life, vividly awakening our innate sensitivity. Among all kinds of matcha, "Inaguchi" delivers an ultimate single-origin experience—a dynamic union of a single cultivar and a harsh yet breathtaking natural environment (terroir). Untempered by blending, every single drop is infused with the powerful vitality nurtured in a single tea estate. PRODUCT
A Rare Miracle of Just 100 kg a Year,
Carrying Some 800 Years of Heritage
While most Japanese matcha is blended to achieve uniform quality, "Inaguchi" originates from a specific single farm, single cultivar, and single tea estate. With an annual yield of merely around 100 kg—representing less than 0.01% of total Japanese tea production—it is one of the rarest craft matcha in Japan. Its complete traceability, making fully transparent who grew it, where, and how, stands as proof of uncompromising craftsmanship.
Terroir Nurtured at the
Cradle of Shizuoka Tea
"Inaguchi" takes root in the Ashikubo area of the Shizuoka mountains, a place deeply revered as the "Cradle of Shizuoka Tea," where the Zen monk Enni (Shōichi Kokushi) is said to have first sowed tea seeds in 1241.Steep slopes at altitudes of 200 to 500 meters, natural river fog in the morning and evening, sharp temperature fluctuations, and well-drained gravelly soil—this harsh yet bountiful natural environment draws out the inherent, powerful vitality of the tea plants without over-relying on fertilizers.
A Vibrant "Yamaka"
(Mountain Aroma) and
Refined Clarity
The greatest appeal of "Inaguchi" lies in its fresh, leaf-like vibrancy and its wild "yamaka" (mountain aroma). It features a pristine clarity free of off-notes and a sharp, crisp finish. This striking individuality and bold character allow its flavor to stand out distinctly without being overpowered, whether crafted into a matcha latte, paired with oat milk, or prepared with hard water. Savor the highly pure, fresh green aroma, locked in by using only the first flush tea (shincha) and minimizing the time lag from harvesting to processing to the absolute limit.
